FARM DIVISIONS

The Farm division is designed for players little league age 6 to 8 (Spring 2026: as of 8/31/26) and serves as a bridge between Tee Ball and kid-pitch divisions. We do not keep score in the Farm division, but we do introduce coach-pitch and the opportunity for players to advance their skill and improve their understanding of the game. There are 10 players per team, and they bat around the order and play in the field each inning.

Players in the Farm division focus on improving throwing, catching, fielding, hitting, and teamwork while gaining confidence in a fun supportive environment.

The Farm Divisions are divided into two levels based on experience:

Lower Farm is designed for younger players moving up from Tee Ball, including little league 6-year-olds and less experienced little league 7-year-olds, who are new to organized baseball.

Upper Farm is for players moving up from Lower Farm and more experienced little league 7-year-olds and 8-year-olds who are new to baseball.

Girls Softball

SFLL Girls' Softball program is continuing to adapt in response to coach and player registration trends. Without a significant number of softball enrollments, most especially including players with parent/guardian coaching volunteers, we do not anticipate being able to field enough teams to offer a softball program in Spring 2026.  The SFLL front office will absolutely rise to the challenge of restarting SFLL softball with the right combination of enrollment and support from the SFLL community.

SFLL still wants to support all the softballers who want to play in San Francisco. We encourage you to continue your registration and (if we are still unable to field a softball program) we will help connect you with the SF Rec & Park softball program. We will not be not charging any registration fees for SFLL Softball at this time.

We also welcome and encourage all of our softball players to consider joining our gender-inclusive baseball program, contact us to learn more about how we support our softball players that move over to the SFLL baseball program.

For more information about the participation level of girls in baseball at each level, or about other opportunities to play softball in the SF area, please contact Newt Jordan, our softball Player Agent.
