TEE BALL DIVISION

SF Little League's Tee Ball program is all about players having fun while learning fundamental baseball skills, perfect for little kids and families new to the game of baseball and to our league. 

The Tee Ball division is primarily comprised of 4 to 5-year-olds (as of 8/31/24). 

*Please note, when we refer to age in the paragraph above and in all league communications, we are referring to "baseball age." Baseball age is your child's age as of August 31, 2024.

GAMES & PRACTICES

Games are once a week on a weekend.  Practices are held once per week between Monday and Friday and usually run for about 1-1.5 hours.  Day, time and location are at the discretion of the coach. 

EQUIPMENT

SFLL will provide each Tee Ball team with the equipment necessary for games and practices. Equipment that will be provided to each team includes helmets, bats, balls, and a uniform shirt and hat for each player. Items that typically need to be purchased by the parent include a glove, baseball/softball pants, and cleats. Some parents may also choose to purchase a helmet and/or bat for their child to use. **Please contact [email protected] if you need help getting equipment for your player.

VOLUNTEERING

Volunteers are the backbone of every successful Little League program.  SFLL will provide each volunteer coach with a curriculum of activities focused on fun, fitness, and fundamentals that can be implemented during practices and games.  We also offer coaches a robust training program including in-person coaching clinics, Positive Coaching Alliance training, and more.

GROUP REQUESTS

Coaches' kids are automatically assigned to the team with their parent.  A head coach may also request up to three additional registered players provided they also recruit a second volunteer coach for the team.  Fully-formed teams of 8-10 players may be registered provided the group includes two volunteer coaches, a practice assistant, and a team parent.  On-field volunteers are required to register and consent to background check

Group Requests must be submitted by the head coach to the Registration Coordinator and the division Player Agents by 1/9/24. Such requests must include the player names, school, grade, and parent email for the players involved.  Each player must also submit an individual registration.   We ask that the coach registration be submitted within five days of registering your child. Player Agents may disallow a group if it upsets the balance on a team and/or in the division.

All group requests must be confirmed by a head coach. The league will not accommodate group requests that are not affiliated with a registered coach.
