SFLL's Challenger Division is for players with physical, developmental or cognitive disabilities. The program provides children or youth over five years old and young adults with disabilities the opportunity to join a baseball team, get some exercise, and learn some baseball skills with other kids in an informal, supportive environment.
There are a few ways SFLL Youth Ambassadors can get involved with the SFLL Challenger division. **All Youth Ambassador volunteer jobs are supervised by SFLL adult volunteers.**
Snack Shack (Tepper Field only, weekly sign-ups available)Sell/serve snacks and drinks from the Snack Shack.
Announcers Booth (Tepper Field only, weekly sign-ups available)Read players' names and numbers as they approach the plate, play music on the PA using your bluetooth device in between innings.
On-Field (Various fields, ongoing season support)Provide support and as much (or little) assistance as each player wants or needs to participate to the best of their ability and enjoy the game. On-Field Ambassadors are asked to commit to their Challenger team for the season and attend as many games as possible regardless of location, however occasional absences can be accommodated. Games are played at a variety of fields including Tepper, Riordan High School, and fields on the Peninsula.
