Early registration for 2019 FALL GIRLS' SOFTBALL (6 TO 15-YEARS-OLD AS OF 12/31/19) is now closed.

KID-PITCH SOFTBALL - Sundays, September 8 - November 3, 2019

FARM SOFTBALL - Sundays, September 8 - October 27, 2019

2019 Girls Softball Fall Season

Girls Softball Fall Ball is a great way for girls to keep their softball skills sharp and also enables girls to continue to learn and to have fun playing the game, and, of course, to make new friends. Also, for players new to softball, it is a great time to introduce them to the game.

Girls Softball Fall Ball games take place only on Sundays in September and October and concludes in early November. The season is developmental at all levels and because play is only Sundays it is easy to make your scheduling plans in advance. No scores or standings are kept and no umpires are assigned to games. Parent volunteers serve as umpires, calling balls and strikes from behind the pitcher. Teams may have a practice or two before the first game and there is a short amount of practice time allotted before each game.

In the kid-pitch divisions the season may end with a round-robin series of games where scores are kept and umpires are used.

From May 28 - August 1, fees for the 2019 Girls Softball Fall Ball season are $145. Starting on August 2nd, fees increase to $175. To complete your registration, you must register online and submit applicable fees. If you wish to pay by check, please mail to: SFLL, P.O. Box 193488, San Francisco, CA 94119-3488. Checks must be received by July 18, 2019. Please note: it is much more convenient for our registration team if you pay by credit card.

We want you to play ball with us regardless of economic circumstances. The online SFLL application form includes a menu option to request a fee waiver due to economic hardship, and offers options to pay a reduced fee--or to request a 100% fee waiver. You will also be asked to provide a brief statement online supporting your fee waiver request.

You have until July 18th to withdraw and receive a refund, minus a $25.00 administration fee. There are absolutely no refunds given after that time. An email must be sent to the Registration Coordinator that states your intention to withdraw.

SFLL Softball Program will allow the following groupings per division:

  • Farm will be allowed 4 player grouping with the registration of a coach.
  • Rookies will be allowed 3 player groupings with the registration of a coach.
  • Minors will be allowed a pair grouping.
  • No groupings will be allowed for Majors or Seniors.

For registration purposes, Little League age is the age of your child on December 31, 2019.

Farm/Rookies (6-8U) (kid-pitch)

Rookie is our first level of kid-pitch softball. Emphasis is placed on advancing skill development from the Farm level including introduction of pitching. Most players are 7 and 8-years-old, although some 9-year-olds will be best suited to this level. Players will generally be in 2nd and 3rd grades with some 4th graders depending on balance of registrations between Rookies and Minors.

Minors (10U)

Primarily 9 and 10-year-olds as of December 31, 2019. Depending on balance of registrations, 11-year-olds as of December, 2019 may be placed in Minors to achieve an even number of teams (to avoid bye weeks).

Majors, Juniors and Seniors (12U, 15U)

All 12, 13 and 14-year-olds as of December 31, 2019. 15-year-olds are also welcome to continue playing at the combined Majors and Seniors level for Fall Ball. Depending on balance of registrations, some 11-year-olds as of December 31, 2019 may be placed in Majors.

Early registration for 2019 FALL GIRLS' SOFTBALL REGISTRATION (6 TO 15-YEARS-OLD AS OF 12/31/18) is now open for middle school registrations only.

Our League is always looking for good coaches. Fall Ball is less demanding and a great way for new coaches to test the waters and for experienced coaches to keep in touch without the time demands of the Spring season. We hope to confirm coaches by mid-July so please get those applications in now.
