Softball Majors Spring 2008 Tournament Schedule
SFLL will hold its annual Softball Majors Division Tournament from May 27-June 19.
The tournament structure is a full double elimination tournament. Teams will be seeded 1-4 based on order of regular season finish (determined by winning percentage). If there is a tie, the team with the best head-to-head record will receive the higher seed. If that is not conclusive, then a coin flip will determine. The top team will receive a bye.The schedule is listed below.
There will be no time limit on games except for darkness and at Ft. Scott where the field is no longer available. Games that are terminated due to darkness/field unavailablity that have completed 4 innings will be official games. It is solely the umpire’s decision when it is too dark to play. However, coaches and umpires can agree on a designated time to terminate play due to darkness in advance.
In any game, the home team will be the team with the higher seed. Rain contingency plans in general are to play rained out games the next day. If rain materializes, a detailed email with all tournament schedule adjustments will be sent to all coaches. Any suspended game will be restarted the next day 30 minutes preceding the scheduled game start time of another game.
