2010 Fall Ball Registration

SFLL 2010 Fall Ball Season - Registration is currently closed

Fall Ball is a great way for kids to keep their baseball skills sharp and also enables kids to continue to learn and to have fun playing the game, and, of course, to make new friends. Also, for new players to baseball, it is a great time to introduce them to the game.

Fall Ball games take place only on Sundays in September and October and concludes in early November.  The season is developmental at all levels and because play is only Sundays it is easy to make your scheduling plans in advance.  No scores or standings are kept and no umpires are assigned to games.  Parent volunteers serve as umpires, calling balls and strikes from behind the pitcher.  Teams may have a practice or two before the first game and there is a short amount of practice time allotted before each game.

The season ends with a double-elimination tournament for all divisions except Farm.  The tournament is competitive, umpires call the games, and a champion emerges for each division.  Farm baseball ends its season with a round-robin series of games.

Over the last two years we have averaged approximately 500 registrants for each Fall season.  Most of those who participated rated their experience from good to great.

DEADLINES

On June 21, we will close Fall Ball registration to determine the number of teams for each division based on registrations as of that date.

FEES

Fees for the 2010 Fall Ball season are $85 and payment must be received by June 21 to guarantee that your child is placed on a team.  To complete your registration, you must register online and submit applicable fees.  If you wish to pay by check, it must be received by June 21.  Please mail to or drop off at 2521 Judah, San Francisco, CA 94122.

REFUND POLICY

Fees are refundable less a $25 processing fee up until July 15.  After July 15, fees are not refundable.

If we receive your fees after June 21, your child will be put on a waitlist.  If we cannot place your child, we would refund your fee in its entirety.  You can check your registration status online.

DIVISIONS

In the Fall we do not offer skills evaluation sessions (SES) and therefore players are placed in the same divisions as they played in the Spring with the following exceptions:

¨      Players born before May 1, 1998 will move up to Juniors.  These players will play Juniors in the Spring of 2010 because it is required by their age, and Fall play on a bigger field will provide a good introduction.

¨      Players who will be at least 8 as of April 30, 2011 and who played Farm in the Spring may request to play Rookie (introduction to kid pitch).  Again, we believe that this will give these kids a good opportunity to try playing kid pitch in the Fall season.  If there are sufficient numbers, we will create two divisions of Rookie, one for new Rookie players and one for returning Rookie players.

¨      Upper and Lower Farm will merge into one division for the Fall.

¨      In order to make full team sizes and even number of teams in divisions, we may move a handful of players to different divisions.

¨      Players whom coaches feel were incorrectly placed in the Spring.

AGE OF CHILD

For registration purposes, Little League age is the age of your child on April 30, 2011.

FALL BALL DIVISIONS

Farm (coach-pitch)

¨    Must be 6 years old by April 30, 2011.  Generally, 6 and 7 year olds play Farm.  We will accept groups of up to 4 players on a team provided all parents sign a letter requesting that all 4 children play together.  All groups must provide a head coach as well.  Please follow the online registration form instructions carefully.  These requests must be submitted no later than June 21.  If the group skill level is such that it may affect the competitive balance in the division, SFLL can choose to break up the group.  You would be notified prior to the draft date if this option is exercised.
