SFLL Levels
of Play The spring season is more time intensive and structured than the fall season. For Baseball, Farm and Challenger Divisions teams play one game per week, Minor and Rookie Divisions play two games some weeks and Majors and Juniors play two games per week, and Senior and Big League Divisions play three games per week. For softball, Farm and Rookie Divisions play one game per week, Minors and Majors play two games some weeks and Seniors play two games per week. Games can be any day of the week. Practices during the season are at the discretion of the coaches—most teams practice once a week, at least for the early part of the season. There are post-season tournaments, league champion tournaments and All-Star tournaments. Pre-season activities (late February to late March) include a full slate of player development clinics and a more intensive period of practice. The season opens on March 15 with a parade through the City followed by games for most teams. The placement of players on teams is managed by the Player Agent. Go to REGISTRATION to register for our Spring 2008 Programs.
*Early Bird Fees are only available until December 16, 2007 for all divisions except Senior and Big League (where season does not start until May) Regular fees are $25 higher per player. **Age is based on age as of April 30, 2008 for baseball and December 31, 2007 for softball ***DE/TOC means that it is a local double elimination tournament with the winner advancing to a district level tournament of Champions. Occasionally, depending on the number of teams in an age group, the format is changed in order to ensure that the season ends on time. In addition to SFLL tournaments, there are post season all star teams formed at the Minors and above levels that participate in play against competing districts. These all star games start in late June and early July and continue until a team is eliminated.
