They finally did it. Ending three years of frustration, the SF American 12’s finally beat SFA got on the board first in the top of the first inning, with a first pitch line drive to right field from our lead-off hitter, Brandon Balladares. This was followed by three walks to take a 1-0 lead. The In the bottom of the fourth, Salvetti came to the plate with two outs. MV’s Collins had retired 11 straight SFA batters at that point. Salvetti turned on a fastball and launched a home run that hit the scoreboard in left field to give SFA a 2-0 lead. SFA added a single run in the fifth to extend its lead to 3-0 and that was more than Aguirre would need. Aguirre kept the MV batters off balance all night, allowing only one MV runner to get to third base. SFA will face Novato South on Wednesday at 5:30 pm at Boyle Field for the District 3 Championship. Come out and root the boys on!
