10 Run First Sets Tone, Rematch and Redemption Slated for Sunday

SF's offense was spurred into action by a seven hit ten run assault in the first inning highlighted by two hits by Jordan Solomon an rbi single followed by a bases loaded triple driving in another three runs.  Solomon's final line was 3-4 with two runs scored and six rbis.  Jack Murphy added two rbi singles in the first inning and went on to finish 2-3 with two walks, four runs and one rbi. Jordan Wilson jump started the second inning with a double to left center and scored on Ben Kullavanijaya's single the next at bat.  Wilson went 3-3 with two runs scored and four rbis.  With one out Wyatt Ernst started our third inning rally by walking, the next hitter flew out, Murphy and Solomon followed Ernst by walking as well.  Jared Hem came up big with a two out bases loaded single driving in two. Wilson drove in the final run for SF with his third hit of the game.  Eleven of our twelve batters scored at least once in the game and ten of our twelve players got hits.

All five of our pitchers were kept under 20 pitches for possible usage in our game tomorrow against Mill Valley in the Championship and they did a great job.  Under the restraints that were put on them, they pitched deftly and efficiently, never yielding a walk in the game.  Lucas Gruenwald started the game for SF setting the tone with a ten pitch first inning by facing the minimum and getting the third out looking.  Gruenwald gave way to Nick Radich after getting the first two outs of the second, went on to strike out the final batter of the inning.  Radich worked a quick third, after allowing a lead off single, he retired the next three in order and got a Web Gem worthy stop from Jordan Solomon, snaring a dashing lazor down the right field line for the final out of the third.  Josiah Corbus and Ben K teamed up for the fourth inning each striking out one.  Twin Cities touched Ben K for one run in the top of the fifth and gave way to Marc Heidohrn who got the final three outs of the game, the last two striking out.

A great bounce back game after our lone loss in pool play, who we get a second crack at Sunday.
