SFN plated 1 in the top of the first but things went south in the bottom half as West Marin belted a 2 run home run and scored 2 more off a couple of singles and defensive lapses. SFN plated 2 in the top of the second, bringing the score to 4-3. Great defense, highlighted by a Kevin Bird diving catch, and solid pitching from Ben Osipow and Zach Avila held West Marin scoreless the rest of the game, but we were unable to capitalize on our offensive chances. All told, SFN stranded 11 runners on base (9 in the final 4 innings), compared with 3 for West Marin. Tough loss but West Marin deserves credit for playing solid defense and shutting down our rallies with timely K's. SFN next faces off against Twin Cities Monday at Tepper.
